At Wellington Secondary College, our vision of Excellence in every classroom, every day reflects our commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for every student. The Wellington Teaching and Learning Model provides a common approach to classroom practice. It guides teachers to create engaging, purposeful learning experiences that support every student to build knowledge, develop skills, and achieve their personal best.

Aligned with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0 (VTLM 2.0) and incorporating the Gradual Release of Responsibility (GRR) framework, our approach supports students through explicit teaching, modelling, guided practice, feedback, and opportunities to apply their learning independently.

In every classroom, students are supported to understand what they are learning, how they can be successful, and how they can continue to improve. Teachers provide clear instruction, meaningful feedback, and opportunities for students to develop confidence, curiosity, and ownership of their learning.
