English as an Additional Language (EAL) is offered to students from non-English speaking backgrounds who require assistance with the language requirements of their mainstream classes. It seeks to promote confidence and proficiency in all areas of English including reading, writing, speaking and listening.
The EAL program at Wellington is diversified to suit the needs of our learners. We have the following structure:
Eligibility for VCE EAL is determined by the VCAA and requires students to have studied English full-time for less than seven years.
